The Lake Travis area in located about 30 minutes west of downtown Austin, Texas. It includes the communites and towns of Bee Caves, Lakeway, Spicewood and Volente. As the name implies, Lake Travis is a lake community with many marinas, high-end luxury waterfront communites, and lots of beautiful boats. That's not to say you can not find affordable homes near Lake Travis. Neighborhoods like Apache Shores and Cardinal Hills still have single family homes starting under $200,000. However, if you want to be on the water, be prepare to spend at least a million for something respectable with no roof leaks.

Here is a list of a few home searches in the Lake Travis area:

Bee Cave Homes for Sale - The City of Bee Cave, TX is located at Hwy 71 and RM 2244 and RR 620. The Village of Bee Cave only emcompasses about 2 square miles and has less than 1,000 residents. Currently, there is over 1,000,000 of commerical retail construction at the 620/Bee Caves Rd. intersection and the landscape of Bee Cave will soon forever be changed. homes in Bee Cave range from about $350k to over $1,000,000. Popular subdivisions in Bee Cave include Falconhead, Belvedere, and The Uplands.

Costa Bella Homes for Sale - The luxury community of Costa Bella is located off of RR 620 and Oak Grove Blvd. Homes in Costa Bella range from about $1,500,000 to over $5,000,000 for a Lake Travis waterfront home.

Lakeway Homes for Sale - the city of Lakeway is located in the Texas Hill Country on the South Shore of Lake Travis. Lakeway is about 25 minutes west from downtown Austin. The Lakeway community is well known for it's world classs gold courses, tennis, fishing, and boating. Home prices in Lakeway range from the low $200's to well over $5 million for luxury waterfront properties.

Rough Hollow Homes for Sale - Rough Hollow is a new community located within Lakeway, TX. Home prices range from the $500's to over $3,000,000 for Lake Travis waterfront homes. It is composed of six exciting individual neighborhoods: Enclave, The Villas, Waters Edge, East Rim, The Bluffs, and The Overlook. The Rough Hollow Yacht Club and Marina includes a clubhouse, a resort-style pool, a tram to the marina, a coffee bar and deli, a yacht store and offices.

Spicewood Homes for Sale - From Hwy 71 and RR 620, Spicewood is located just a few miles west towards Marble Falls. Spicewood, TX is about 22 miles Northwest of Austin and 16 miles southeast of Marble Falls. Most subdivisions and neighborhoods include their own marina or Lake Travis access. In addition,  the area that surrounds Spicewood has numerous lake and creek settings including the infamous Pace Bend Park (also known as Paleface Park) featuring 1,368 acres landmass with 9 miles of Lake Travis waterfront,  and the latest donation of Reimer's Ranch.

The Hills of Lakeway Homes for Sale - Located off of Lohman's Crossing and Wingreen Loop. The Village of the Hills community (or city I should say) enjoys a gated community with a 24 hour security guard that keeps the neighborhood safe. The Hills Golf Country Club hosts the annual Senior PGA Tour. The Hills of Lakeway offers a variety of membership opportunities that allow you to experience the serenity of life in Lakeway. In addition to spectacular Nicklaus designed golf; the Club presents the World of Tennis Sports Complex, wonderful dining facilities at The Hills Clubhouse and the new Flintrock Falls Clubhouse. Real estate in The Hills start around $300k for a older 1980's home in need of some remodeling to over $1,000,000 for a newer, 4,000+ square foot luxury home that (most likely) has some killer golf course and hill country views.

Volente Homes for Sale - includes all properties located along FM 2769, Bullick Hollow Road, Lime Creek Road, and properties located along all roadways that originate either directly, or as tributary from these roads. Homes are priced from $200,000 for a modest home up over $1,500,000 for a waterfront luxury property.
