This year has been a very different year here in Hawaii for real estate as well as for the weather.  While the real estate market set new records this year by leveling off or decreasing in price and sales, the weather is also making  it's own records this year.  It's been raining here a lot for the past few days and so far this year, we had 43 straight days of rain, floods, tornado watches, mudslides, earthquakes and a state record breaking traffic jam that nearly shut down our island.  These are not good combinations.  Especially the rain, floods, earthquakes and mudslides...and traffic.  It's either an El Nino or it's sister's year but it sure makes it feel like someone up there is upset at how we're taking care of our planet.  How's the weather been this past year from where you are?  Has it been more extreme?

We've had some great swells this year, haven't we?  Maybe just some sewer stink surf on the south side in May due to the sewage spill during the 43 days of rains.  That sucked.  Water's beautiful now.  Enjoy!!!

We just had a small earthquake again today on the Big Island that had a magnatude of 3.8. No damage. What's going on this year?

Hi Kengo,

Here in Chicago the weather has been really weird too.  We had a 52 degrees high today, saw many people in shorts.  That never happens around this time of year.   It is still cold for me, I don't see what all the fuzz is all about.  But I'll take it, I won't complain too much, we could be in the minus numbers.   Have a wonderful Year Kengo!

I live in Phoenix, Arizona, and we had record breaking temperatures in the 90's!
