GOT SOMETHING for ME?
As I sat in my office, a marketer stopped by and asked if I had anything for HIM? I responded, "Well, that depends if you have something for ME." He didn't. The visit was a short one.
Reciprocity goes a long way in creating trust between participants.
Do business with the people who value what you present to them. If someone is not willing to refer business, then find people who will. The results are a WIN-WIN for all involved and can result in lifelong business relationships.
Things to do to set-up an affiliate referral business:
- ASK for the business. Don't expect that association merits '1st in line' status.
- Request repeat business after a successful closing with clients.
- Join a networking group and let it be known that you do referral business.
- Make sure the people you ask for / give business referrals are a good fit.
- Be Thankful. Show it. Express it.
So the next time you are visited from someone asking for your business, ASK BACK! And start building a foundation based on trust by establishing a referral business. This benefits everyone and is a definite WIN-WIN!
