There is a woman I see every week at a perticular office I go to. She "greets" me with apathy on her best days and rudeness on her worst.
She may be competent at her job, BUT...Is this the type of person you want as your clients' first impression of your business? I doubt it.
The next question is...How do you handle someone like this when you go into a business? I remember an old quote. "A smile confuses an approaching frown". It works every time. To be honest, it's actually kind of fun to watch her try to figure out why I am being nice and how she should respond.
The bigger question is...How many other potential clients have walked through your door once, only to never come back?
A bad first impression can cost a company thousands of dollars. If you have great people at your front, then congratulations. If you aren't so sure, it is time to take stock of your situation.
