Kachemak Heritage Land Trust is Alaska's first land trust.

Kachemak Heritage Land Trust

KHLT has helped to preserve forest, wetlands and riverfront, recreational areas, historic and cultural sites, and urban natural areas on the Kenai Peninsula through donations of land and conservation easements.

Kachemak Heritage Land Trust

KHLT is primarily supported by individuals, foundations, corporations, and businesses who believe that the protection of natural land is important if we are to retain the quality of life and economic base that make the Kenai Peninsula so attractive for residents and visitors.

Kachemak Heritage Land Trust

You can donate land, money time or labor... they do very good work and we are better for their work.

Bay Realty is a proud member of the Kachemak Heritage Land Trust and our Scott Connelly serves on the board as Secretary.

Fantastic photos, Debra! Are those Trumpeter Swans? When I lived in Barrow, there was a place the Trumpeters came every year.

Debra, It is wonderful when  people  come together and care about protecting the land  for the generations to come. Your pictures are beautiful.

Thank you all so much for stopping by my site... this is such a beautiful area...all I have to do is take the picture...but the white birds are seagulls with a mix of sandhill cranes. Eagles, geese and shorebirds and all kinds of birds gather here... we do get Trumpeter Swans I uses to have the same 2 come every year to my yard and have their baby and move on... they mate for life..

KHLT is a great organiztion with dedicated people... they have done a remarkable job and we will all reap that reward for years to come! thanks

Hi Debra, Some beautiful photos. It would be great if you could capture some Trumpeter Swans. They are so graceful and beautiful to look at, though they can be quite noisy sometimes. I am impressed with the KHLT group and it is certainly evident of all the good they do.

My goal one day is to visit every state in the United States and I know that I will pretty much start in Alaska, my worry is that I may not want to leave! You have such a beautiful state that hasn't been ruined by well people!
