CHFA Helps Thornton Citizens Buy Homes

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Top Priority Realty, LLC

This article was in the Summer 2010 edition of "Inside Thornton" Magazine.

If you're tired of renting and are ready to take the next step to homeownership, there is help available for first-time homebuyers.

The City of Thornton and Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) provide first-time homebuyers interested in owning a home in Thornton, with opportunities for competitive fixed rate mortgages, down payment assistance, and tax credits.  A first-time homebuyer is someone who has not owned a home in the last three years. To qualify, you need to meet income and purchase price limits, complete a free homebuyer education course, have a minimum credit score of 580 and contribute $1,000 toward the purchase of the home.

Learn more about CHFA at or call CHFA's Denver office at 800-877-2432.
