Arizona (UN)Employment: How do You View the World?

US Bureau of Labor Statistics

OK...So the latest news is in as I was reading in the Business Journal today. How do we stack up? They were talking about the numbers put out by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. The number were for July, and it always lags. It takes some time to get the numbers, compile and report them to us.

Good News: 90% of people in Arizona are working. There are maybe jobs that you may not like, but it is cash flow and feeds the little ones at home.

Bad News: 10% are Unemployed. That was up slightly from the 9.6% that was reported earlier in the month about the State. As the saying goes: 'it is a recession if your neighbor is our of work, It is a depression if YOU are out of work'.

The US reports the overall unemployment to be 9.7%, slightly better.

How is the employment in your area?

I'm not sure what the numbers are right now for Denver, but I don't think quite as bad as the country in general. The thing is, many unemployed are staying unemployed for a LONG time.

What a powerful question. How do you view the world? I view the world as positive and good. Let's toast to a recovering economy.
