Wow, Richard. Those are really some beautiful photos. Where did you take them?
Neat pictures of the butterfly Richard. I do not know what variety that one is but it looks cool...
Very intense pictures, thanks for sharing!
Lime green and black... how cool to fly around sporting those colors.
Those photos look like they could grace the pages of a National Geographic magazine. They're that good.
Those are fascinating colors on that butterfly, Rich. Looks very much like a Swallowtail, but Swallowtails are yellow and black, and longer, rather than wider. Your butterfly doesn't have the tails either. I've not seen a butterfly with those colors. . .Quite pretty!
Richard, I am green with envy, okay sorry that is the first thing that popped into my warped brain...
Hi Rich - Going green is always good :-) Unusual butterfly.
Wow...I have to admit, I've never seen a green butterfly. Amazing.
Wow! I've never seen a butterfly that color! Beautiful Rich!
Rich,
It certainly matches its surroundings. Beautiful coloring - don't think I've seen it before. :)
Steve
Hey Richard great photo. I have never seen one with that greenish tint on the wings. You really are a great photographer!!
At first glance, I liked the 2nd picture better. The more I looked, I like the first one best... you can even see the eyes staring at you. Both are fabulous! :O)
I agree with Craig. You have such an eye. These are gorgeous photos. And, thanks for the encouragement....I made it past him with this comment (Wink).
MELISSA: I took them at a butterfly exhibit in Silver Spring, MD.
MIKE: I'm clueless as to what the variety is too.
JOAN: Thanks for stopping by.
SALLY: Very unusual coloring.
CRAIG: Thanks. I do get lucky every once in a while.
MYRL: The unusual coloring was what attracted me too.
GERRY: Glad to meet a fellow warpie.
JOHN: Pretty rare I would suspect.
DAVID: Me either...and I'm older than you.
WANDA: Thanks. This one was unique.
STEVE: Thanks. Yes, the coloring is odd, but unique.
CHARLIE: Why thank you my friend.
JONI: I'm partial to the first one.
SUZANNE: Wow, thats huge. Start gunning for the next one :)
What striking photos. I would have never gotten the camera out of the case in enough time to capture the moment!
