My First Bloom

By
Real Estate Agent with Liberty Homes RS-#62825

Months ago my mom gave me a small plant she had rooted just for me. She knows I love Pikake flowers and I've always loved to have a fragrant Pikake lei for occasions.

The other day I looked and there was a small bud starting and yesterday it was in full bloom.

My first bloom!

Now...if you think anything like I do, you start to think about all the things you've gone through in life that were your 'firsts'.  A new bloom can represent many things...new in the business, new life, marriage etc.

Have a wonderful day....and an even better tomorrow!

Sally - that is a beautiful flower and I did some research when I saw it because it looks an awful lot like our gardenia but I now know it is a different flower totally! thanks!

After seeing (and smelling) some pikakes at a coastal property here a couple of years ago, I definitely understand why you like them. Unfortunately, I live much further inland, where the air is hotter and drier, so I can't grow them out here.

Sally,

That is a beautiful picture - I didn't realize it was used in Leis - missing you seeing all the pics with you and Randy and Candice - I'll never forget my "first trip to Hawaii" and the "first time I got to meet you in person"...now looking forward to my seconds :)

Sally I don't think I have ever seen a Pikate up close, but from the picture it is easy to see why you love that flower.

Gorgeous...I wish I could smell it too !!   There is not better thing than a plant shared.   I value the clippings from my mother and grandmother....they thrive in my yard, and each time they bloom I think they are talking to me  :)

Sally,

I can't wait to see the beauty of Hawaii first hand.  Thanks for sharing your first Pikake.  My mother grows some awesome flowers and I have posted a few here in the past.  Enjoy!
