QR Code Rider Signs by Jack Pratt Signs

QR Codes isn't something new.

However, QR Code Riders are.

When the brochure box came out, my Dad was skeptical.  "Why would you want to put all that information out there when you really want the prospect to call?"  He was also skeptical of the fax machine, internet and e-mail, but he came around to those technological advances pretty quick.

In the real estate industry, you have to be on the cutting edge of technology.  Do they even print the MLS Book anymore or is it all on-line?  Hmmm, not sure - you guys can answer that one for me.  Anyway, QR Codes is cutting edge and we are right there with it!

Elizabeth Cooper-Golden was the one who tipped me to QR Codes and I can't thank her enough.  Above is an example of her "QR Code Riders".  Contact Elizabeth to see the response she's gotten from her QR Code Riders!

I had the privilege of speaking at RainCamp Prescott last week also.  Ben Kinney asked me if there is something new and exciting in the world of real estate signage.  I brought up QR Code Riders and while explaining, there were 2 women on the front row who I thought were going to jump out of their skin.  Suzanne Feinberg and Tina Malko of www.PowerVision4RealEstate.com.  They knew exactly what I was talking about.  Once I got home from RainCamp, I contacted Suzanne, helped her with updating her logo and got her underway with her QR Code Rider.  Together, we've developed a synergistic relationship in order to bring awareness of this technology to the real estate industry in hopes of providing quicker access of information to prospects.

So, I doubt that the brochure box will ever phase out, however, as one "in the market", I'd rather pull information up on my iPhone with all the information I want on a house rather than keeping track of a piece of paper.

But, if you want a brochure box anyway, you can click here too : )

Yours truly,

Monte

It's amazing where technology has taken us, isn't it?  Interesting concept but I think (and I'm probably wrong here) it would be better suited for larger markets/metros?

Not sure.  I just got off the phone with a guy in California who had a lot of questions regarding the details of QR Codes.  I recommend you contact both Elizabeth Cooper-Golden and Suzanne Feinberg for the details of how QR Codes can launch your business.  I'm just a simple sign guy that can make the QR Code Riders look slick as gut.

Search "ScanLife" in your app store and download the free app.  After much thought, I would probably use a brochure box in conjunction with QR Code Riders with instructions on how to use it.  Eventually, the public will understand it without having to hold their hand.

Glad your signs are holding up!  You can count on them lasting a really, really long time!

Good to hear from you!

Monte, Thank you for mentioning my name :)  These name riders have already provided a great value to my sellers.  Their web traffic is UP on views per home.  We put the web address on the rider, along with the QR codes.  We can see from our web site which tool they are using in front of the home.

My market is mid-sized I'd say.  I think our population is around 400,000.  However, EVERYONE has a smart phone now, so I don't think market size matters.  It's being forward thinking :)

Love your idea about flyer boxes with instructions on how to use the QR code scanner.

Wow! Thanks for sharing this Jack. By the way I need to talk to you sometime next month. I need to talk to you about making some signs like the one you did for Ben Kinney and some QR Code Riders like the one you did for one of my AR favorite people  Elizabeth Cooper-Golden. Great post.

Monte,

QR codes seem to be sweeping across all parts of real estate advertising!

I like the idea of QR codes on sign riders. The only questions I have are about durability. If the code gets scratched, or faded from the hot desert sun, can it still be scanned?

Indeed Judi.  They sure are!

Great question John!!

First, we use powder coated 20 gauge steel - the longest lasting, most heavy duty sign material in the industry.  The solvent-based ink we use in all our signs will last 5 years.  In addition, we apply a 3M laminate that provides extra UV protection and scratch resistance for an extra 2-3 years.  Given some care, they will last the length of the life you sell real estate.  When it comes to quality, nobody can come close.  And that's the fact, Jack.

Monte, I love that you are a sign company with a brain. Most sign companies only focus on printing signs. You guys integrate strategy and position yourself to actually add value to your clients by innovating how signs are used. Great Job.

Thanks again Ross!!  You've hit it right on the head and appreciate seeing our main point of difference.  You'll notice however that some have not responded as enthusiastic about what we're trying to do.  Some think that QR codes are ugly, that AR Profile Riders are a lost leader, due to the fact that it's a 3rd party site (so is Facebook & Twitter), so on and so forth.  Everyone has an opinion and that's fine - not all that we offer is for everyone.  I'm trying to position ourselves as the sign company that can help you with marketing and branding by augmenting the "For Sale sign" with aesthetic value and 3rd party website riders (AR Profile riders, Facebook riders and Twitter riders)

If you have other ideas, I'd love to get in a "think tank" and work out what can actually help real estate agents build their business!

Thanks again Ross!
