Starlight Canada Needs Your Help - Just a Simple Vote for the Starlight Site at SickKids Hospital

I was thrilled to find out today that Starlight Canada, a charity that I have been proud to support, was selected by Pepsi to participate in a contest for a significant grant.  For those of you that aren't familiar with Starlight Canada, they have been in existence for 20 years and help to improve the quality of life for children with chronic and life threatening illnesses.

One of the ways that they accomplish this is by building and maintaining fun and recreational play areas in local hospitals to help relieve some of the stress and worry that goes with being in the hospital.  As adults, we know how scary a hospital stay can be; particularly for more serious illnesses.  That fear must be tripled for the smallest of patients.

The Pepsi Refresh Project will be providing funding to one deserving charitable organization in the amount of $100,000 under the health category.  The recipient will be determined by a voting process.

If Starlight Canada receives the largest number of votes, they will be provided with the funds by Pepsi to refresh their Starlight Site at The Hospital for SickKids in Toronto, Ontario.  Plans would include updating the room, making the space more accessible for wheelchairs and IV poles and adding additional space for toddlers aged 0-3.

Here's all you have to do.  Visit the Pepsi Refresh Project and vote here for Starlight Canada.  You can vote every day until the contest closes on October 31st.  If you feel really strongly about this and want to help, set yourself a reminder to do it every day.

It's such a great opportunity for Starlight Canada to give back to the community yet again.  Just think of how it would help to brighten the day of a really sick child for a little while.  There's no price tag on that.
