Well as I said in my last post, I hadn't been quite so active in the blogs or forums of late, but yesterday I took a look at my forum, and what do I find nearly 500 members.

Wow !!!!!!

Then I took a close look, 3 were real members the rest all SPAMMERS, bad names just filling the forum up with SPAM links.

When will these guys learn, links have to be relevant and when people like myself find them in our blogs and forums we delete them and ban the people, all they end up with is a total waste of time.

Please Please Please, when you are using link building in your SEO campaign do it right and make them relevant.

In a nutshell good long term SEO takes time, but when done right it sticks, SPAM just pi#@#eseveryone off and in the long term achieves nothing.

Too bad that the spammers can't find a positive way to channel their talents.  Guess that will never happen.

I would love to see all spamers in those little blue cans and back on the stores shelves

Rob ... irrelevant links in your forum can also damage your search engine positioning.  Have you thought of employing a "capcha" type verification system for submissions?

Spam is more than an annoying problem, it is a time waster, and time is money for each and everyone on ActiveRain.

Thank you very much for sharing, the person who comes up with a fool proof system to combat spam will be wealthy!
