did you know

Often during the course of the day, I'll do something on the computer where I'll think "that's really cool, there's probably a lot of people that don't know you can do that!" I have a Facebook Page called Craig's Classroom where I often post these tips and you can follow if you are interested. Meanwhile, my favorite tips are often too small in themselves to create a whole article on. I decided to start this blog series where I compile 5 tips at a time. Here is the Part 2 of this series. (see bottom for links to Part 1 of series)

1

When viewing PDF files in Acrobat

Ctrl+0 is Zoom to whole page
Ctrl+1 is Zoom to 100%
Ctrl+2 is Zoom to fit Width of Page

2

Some programs you use "once in a while"
need to find it, click the windows button
then type a FEW characters
it will quickly pop up list of matches -
e.g. type cal for calculator and then click
(new in Windows Vista and higher)

3

There are different flight tracking sites
www.flightaware.com is my favorite
don't head to the airport til you know what time the flight is ACTUALLY arriving (cool too to zoom in on map and see where they are and what altitude, etc!)

4

Did you know you can download
the free kindle app for your smartphone?
on your phone's browser go to these pages
blackberry www.amazon.com/kindlebb
android phone www.amazon.com/kindleforandroid
iPhone/iPad - use App Store icon - search kindle
many classics e-books are even free!
other new titles typ up to $9.99

5

Do you ever have a web page that you
really want to read but need to "do later"
what I do is drag the icon from the browser to my desktop for a shortcut to go back later
when read the article later, delete the shortcut

If you learned something new, leave me a comment!
tell me which numbers above you didn't already know and plan to use!

Great Tips!  I do #5 all the time, and find that it fills up with "things to do later" way too fast!

Craig, I use my Mac most of the time but the pc gets used for office stuff. Love the Acrobat info - when I want to bookmark a website, I just email it to myself - but your desktop shortcut keeps it front and center - great idea :)
