I am generally not a hater, but I thought that this was valuable information to share with any realtor in the Phoenix Metropolitan area that might need a home inspector. I closed a transaction today and I thought I would share some information with any realtor in the Phoenix area since it seems like there are quite a few that belong to AR. My clients put an offer on a home that would up falling through buy they were far enough in the transaction to have a home inspection. My regular home inspector was on vacation so I asked him suggested a referral. Originally, he said that this other inspector was someone he has done business with before. Anyway, this other inspector inspected the house and in a conversation with my client, suggested that he might be better served using another realtor. I don't know what brought this on, but my client called me immediately and asked if this was my normal inspector and them proceeded to tell me what had happened. Needless to say, I was more than a little dismayed. I will say this, I will NOT EVER use ARIZONA HOME AND PROPERTY INSPECTIONS in Chandler again and I will have a talk with Davis Carpico on the next business day and ask him why he chose to solicit my clients when he got some business from me!!!
A sure way to lose business for the home inspector. Totally unprofessional. We all work together as teams on a transaction.
Wow that is unbelievable, I am so sorry to hear that. I have never heard of such an awful thing coming from an inspector that YOU hired. Wishing you lots of business and all the best.
I agree this is a sure way for a Home Inspector to loose business, what happened was very unprofessional, and I hope you also passed this on to your "regular home inspector".
Interesting how a home inspector can create havoc such as this. I've never had this happen nor do I want it to happen to me or anyone else. You would think that in this economy an inspector would just do their job.
I am suggesting this as a featured blog. ARIZONA HOME AND PROPERTY INSPECTIONS need to recognize that agents may or MAY NOT refer business.
Wade, have had the same experience and that inspector would never get another client from me either. Sorry to hear that -- very disappointing and unprofessional. Sounds like your clients are loyal to you. Best of luck,
Wade, this is horrible! What did he hope to gain by throwing you under the bus? And, how can you trust the inspection results?
Unbelievable! That is just crazy - is this guy an independent or can you notify the owner of the company? He won't be in business long at that rate!
Steve and Carol, I agree that was very unprofessional.
Richard, I won't hire him again!
Ted, I did pass the information on to my regular inspector and he apologized for the recommendation.
Leolinda, thanks for the recommendation.
Pamela, at least my clients were thoughtful enough to point that out to me.
Christine, since this was a one time inspection, I guess he thought he had nothing to lose.
Thanks for all of your supporting comments!
Eileen, it is a one person shop and I hope he isn't in business too long.
I hope you addressed it with the inspector who made the comments; you might consider filing a complaint as well.
Thanks Mike. I addressed it with him and I am considering filing a complaint.
I also was going to suggest filing a complaint since I believe Arizona licenses home inspectors. That's just way out of line.
Thanks Jim. I was really livid when I heard about it from my client. I am still thinking of doing that .
That was a really unprofessional thing for him to do, Wade. Let us know if you file a complaint. I have thought of doing that before, too.
WHOA - what an idiot unprofessional jerk. I hope you put this out on our internal blog with the name of the inspector.
Hi Julie, I may just do that. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for stopping by.
Hi Wade, There's no accounting for what other people will say - but almost always if they shouldn't have said it - it will come back around and bite them. That's a good rule in the Universe, I think.
