Phil Stevenson wrote a blog the other day titled "The End of the Mortgage Broker". Very well written post, lots of detail, as Phil is in the loan officer side of our business.

Here's my question...how much of this does the general public actually know? Should they be concerned? How best to advise them of what is going on, not only on this topic, but on all the other government sponsored "assistance" program? The old joke (not really) is the phrase " Hi, I'm from the government and I'm here to help you!".

I know I am concerned, simply because less competition means exactly that. If competition is lacking then the pressure to crunch out a sharp deal begins to go away. Part of my service is to help my buyers with the best possible all around transaction, and that goes way beyond just finding the house for them.

Love to hear for you all.
