My husband bought an IPad and I am the one who uses it. I like to use it while I am on the couch in the evening watching TV. I can search Craigslist, the MLS, facebook, Active Rain, and Google for information for my business, my life, and even get ideas for blogs on Active Rain. I really like the keyboard and the screen is clear and good size to use and view. It is relaxing and easier for me to use in that setting than a laptop.

I also like the book feature on the Ipad. It is so nice to download books and not have to carry books around or waste all that paper. My husband has downloaded movies and apps and tunes as well. He even has the google voice activated.

Our IPad is a 3G model. I would like to get a 4G so I could have the mobile capability when wireless is not available, like when  I am showing homes and we pull up in front of a home and the clients what the pictures and information.

I also purchased a very nice microfiber cloth at Fry's Electronics ( 6 cloths for $5) that is amazing for cleaning the screen.

I suggest everyone get an IPad. It is a useful tool for business and relaxation too.

Thanks so much for your comments. My first computer way too many years ago was a Mac. However, for years a PC was the only way to go for business. I've been thinking about the ipad, but was concerned about the switch back. your comments have opened my thinking once more. Thanks again.

I look forward to getting one but I'm waiting to see what else they come out with to update it even further. Apple is so amazing. Have you checked out Apple TV yet? That truly looks great, you can rent TV shows for 99cents each, download netflix etc. integrate with your computer, I-pod, all digital.

Lori, An iPad is at the top of my list. And no thinking about what to get the kids for Christmas this year. I got tired of lugging my laptop around last year with the wireless plug-in...then waiting for it to get connected. The 4G will be great for business, and I'd even consider buying a couple for give-aways. Thanks for the tips on how your using your new toy!

Lori-

My husband bought me an iPad for our anniversary. At first I was not sure if I would be able to part from my laptop when traveling, but after traveling to Chicago recently for an NAR Convention- I learned that I could survive with the iPad. I packed my laptop in my suitcase and carried my iPad while traveling in the airport. It was the BEST!

When I got to the convention, I never even opened the laptop. I was able to do everything I needed to do (plus things that were just pure entertainment) on the iPad.

Never will carry that laptop again on a trip! LOVE THE iPad!

Lori, I also got an iPad about 2 weeks ago and loved it. It could do almost everything that I needed while out except a few things like play a cd or dvd. I also can't seem to respond on ActiveRain on my iPad even though I could write blogs.

Lori, Ooooooh, I am jealous.  I try not to grab every new gadget.  But this is beyond anything.  I was recently at the FAR convention in Orlando.  I looked over a lot of shoulders at many i-Pads.  I hope I did not drool on their screens.
