This is a heart warming story of a Father and Son and it is a great read.  Stories like this take us to a place where we need to remember that the present is a gift and we should treat it like that.  Thanks to ghe blogger for sharing this moment.

Via Jay Markanich (Jay Markanich Real Estate Inspections, LLC):

I got a call late last night from my Marine son saying that he had the weekend off and was coming up from Camp LeJeune for a visit.  He recently returned home from his latest visit overseas (third one), and we had not seen him since he got back.  Visits often happen on the spur of the moment like this.  He has to return Monday, and getting in this morning we met early for breakfast.  I had my thermal camera with me for my morning inspection, so I took a couple of images.

I had him open his mouth to give his face a little dimension for this shot!  It's a little warmer in there.

The whiter the color the warmer, and the purple-r the color the cooler!

The food on the large plate is hash browns on the left, omelet on the right, and on the small plate in front is toast.  The hottest thing there is the hash browns, 124.7F.  The omelet and toast are not much cooler than that.

The coolest things are the large purple spot which is a sauce they put on top of the omelet, registering 62.5F.  The purple spot on the smaller plate is a wrapped slice of butter.

His face is a comfy 92.3F, so that proves he is healthy...

So you can see all the contrast!

After that he came with me to my inspection this morning.  He loves coming with his Daddy to work.  With all the deployments it's been a while for that!

He will be leaving again soon for a really hot place just north and west of Pakistan and east of Iran, what's it called again?

Thanks for sharing this sweet story.  Living in a military town, I see kids like this all the time.  I always know that there is a family that worries and misses very much.
