When is technology too much?

I friend.  I tweet.  I'm linked.  I blog - both in the Rain and abroad.  Google likes me!!  I text and I'm totally lost without my bluetooth.  I can't drive without talking on the phone to someone!  Oh - I also forum: three local and one on my pets.  And in my spare time, I try to sell houses!

And to sell houses, listings are on the MLS, a company website, zillow, trulia, craigslist and a host of hundreds of other sites.  Yes, the website syndicates but still - there is some maintenance just to verify it's all correct.

To keep everything simplified and orchestrated, there is Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Seesmic and I'm sure others I haven't yet found.  Which do you like for real estate applications and why?

I sold advertising for 16 years before becoming a REALTOR - I know the strengths and weaknesses of traditional advertising media.  But I've never marketed myself on the Internet.  I don't mind paying money but I do expect a return!  I totally get that most buyers and sellers are internet savvy and I need my name to be the one they find in my area. I'm looking for feedback from those of you who have walked the path before me on your successes and failures. What do you find works and why/why not?

And the final question du jour... how do you add the icon links for the various SM sites to your signature on sites like this and in your emails?

TIA for your patience with me asking soooo many questions in one post!!

Hi Bea - I can't answer most of that but I can tell you about SM links!  Go to "Settings" and create a signature.  It will show up on every post.  As for the actual icons, there's a ton of them on this site. I dug around and found some that I like that no one else was using because I like to be different that way.  :)

ETA:  Now that I reread your question, I'm not sure that answered it!  To use the icons in the actual sig file, create the signature in HTML and set the link for each image to go to that specific site.

Hi Bea,

It is a crazy world we are in right now.

Could we just go to an island and catch fish to eat and forget about the internet?

Although it takes time and effort, all the tech stuff is important to connect to the modern world around us. There are ways and lifestyles that are more simple if we choose to use them.
