23rd Annual Greek Festival! Nashville TN
This is one of my favorite fall events! Three fun fill days of Greek Food, dancing and entertainment that is sure to delight the young and old alike. There is a climbing wall, petting zoo, inflatables and other things to keep the kids occupied.
Then along the outside of the church you'll find what seems like a true Greek Bazaar with exotic and custom made things including jewelry, clothing, glass beads, fine silver, unique stones, cookbooks and lots of belly dance costumes!
During the Greek Festival, you can tour the beautiful church, which is an authentic example of Byzantine architecture. Inside, be sure to purchase the delightful pastries made by the women of the church. You can get them in mixed boxes, already to grab and run, or pick your favorites in the quantities you want.
Don't miss the warm Spanikopita and Tiropita outside at the food tents. Snack and sip Greek wine or Oozo or have a complete dinner of Mousaka, Pastitchio, Souvlaki or some great Lamb Arni Psito!
If that's too much there are Chicken, Vegetarian or Classic Gyros and Greek style Sausage.
I ran up there at lunch time and got Gyros for my husband and me and a box of pastries. Well, I also got some spanikopita and dolmades but I ate them in the car on my way to meet him. Don't tell! LOL
