29 Comments on Goat Island on Logan Martin Lake
Why what lucky goats they are living on their own island. You wouldn't have to worry about me trying to feed or pet them though - they look pretty fierce with those horns.
Diane,
That is so unique. No mowing...just goats. I may have to look into that.
Rich
Diane, I have to be honest I was not expecting live goats to be on goat island. That is a great way to control the vegetation and well with goats everything else.
Diane, that is a good solution to that problem! I like the use of the goats!
Lee & Carol - They are lucky, view, food and water front home. What more could you ask for.
Rich, Marchel, Tony & Carcy If you look at the picture of the island, the trees limbs have all the leaves off of them from the distance it looks like they name been trimmed off.
Now that is really something to see
I bet it is great to live there
your friend in Charlottesville
Charles, it is a great place to live. I spent a lot of time as a child in the Blue Ridge Mountains and your home is beautiful.
How funny! We have a goat island on Lake Livingston too! :O)
Hello Joni, I can't think of a better way to keep the island cleaned up......that is funny.
Diane, I wasn't expecting live goats either, but they seem to be doing a good job.
Thanks for stopping in Nick. The goats on the island do an excellent job on keeping it cleared.
Diane,
I was hoping that there were actually gots there. How do the get along with each other? :)
Steve
Hi Diane... Why can't we play with the goats? It would be like a big petting zoo! :)
Steve, there are three on the island and they get along well with each other. Thanks for stopping by.
Steve, Some people think you can pet anything. I would stay away from these guys. :)
Diane,
Congratulations. This post is now featured on "Speechless Sundays." :)

Steve, I enjoy looking at the island when out on Logan Martin Lake. It is nice that that you enjoyed it. Thank you.
Diane, getting the goats to keep the grass trimmed is a great idea. I've often thought about having goats to mow my lawn!
Maria, It was a neat idea for the island. :-)
Diane, What a great idea … win/win for the homeowners and the lucky goats. Both appear to be living the good life!
Kathleen, What more could they ask for, a home, food, and wow what a view! LOL
