Top Public High Schools in Essex County, New Jersey

On my website's homepage, about 3/4 of the way down under, Profile of an Essex County, West Essex Real Estate Agent. I have, to the right of my "profile", in rank order (as shown on the right here), The Best Places to Live in Essex County, New Jersey as ranked by New Jersey Monthly Best Places to Live, February 2010.

As you can see, Caldwell New Jersey was ranked #1 Best Place to Live in Essex County, New Jersey.

Tonight I've compiled (with the help of New Jersey Monthly Top Public High Schools, August 2010) the Top Public High Schools in Essex County, New Jersey in rank order AND have also included in the second column, each Essex County's High School Rank compared to the 322 Public High Schools throughout all of New Jersey.

Data for the New Jersey Monthly ranking of the state's high schools were obtained from the state Department of Education's most recent New Jersey School Report Card (covering the 2008-2009 school year). Only public high schools were included.

The #1 Public High School in Essex County New Jersey is Millburn!!  That's no typo in the second column either -- the #1 Public High School in New Jersey is Millburn!!  Millburn ranked #1 against 27 other Essex County Public High Schools AND Ranked #1 against 321 other New Jersey Public High Schools!!!  Way to go Millburn!!!

As you can see half of the Public High Schools in Essex County(Millburn through Nutley) ranked in the top 50% of the Top Public High Schools in New Jersey. 

I think town and school rankings is important information for buyers.  Ironically, Caldwell, New Jersey is ranked #1 Best Place to Live in Essex County, New Jersey, Caldwell/West Caldwell High School, James Caldwell, is ranked #5 Top Public High School in Essex County New Jersey.  NJ Monthly does provide an explanation as to how the 2010 Top New Jersey High School rankings were compiled.
