Has Anyone Else Tried Blackle?

By

My very tech-savvy across-the-street neighbor invited me to our weekly block Cocktail Club meeting and had some exciting news - especially for laptop users.  Google has a new search service called "Blackle".  It works the same way that Google does except that the page is black instead of white.  This saves energy, because a black screen uses less battery power than a white screen does.  I never knew that!

On the screen, there is a little box showing you how much energy you are actually saving.  And as near as I can tell, it's just as fast as a Google search.

I have never heard of this.  So if the screen is black does that mean all the print is white writing??  How do you get to the Blackle page or setting??

I Googled it, and I think it's just Blackle.com.  The page is black and the writing is white.

Ok, this sounds interesting.  If nothing else, I might try it just to see what it looks like. I wonder if one way versus the other has any better effects  on the eyes as well.

Patricia- I never heard of it until today. I checked it out and it looks pretty cool. I think I will start using it when I'm on my laptop.

There are around 25 different versions of "black google" online. The best one I've found is www.cleanblack.com. Cleanblack is the only version that allows you to change the text colors of the google search results. Try it yourself by going to www.cleanblack.com/theme/
