Finding Your Blogging Voice Happens Magically

Colored VW VanSomewhere along the way in your Blogging Career a strange thing happens.

  You Find Your Blogging Voice

What is that you might ask? It just surfaces out of nowhere, and individually you have a dominant style. You may be a ranter, a technical writer, a whacky person, a photographer, a religious writer or irreverent, someone who loves all sorts of open house posts, or a local writer, a thought provoking one, someone very controversial, an obsessive short sale proponent or expert, an all around funny person, a Family Guy, you get the message. You may occasionally have TWO voices.

But whomever you are, my suggestion especially for the newbies with blogging, and this comes out probably between blog post #50 and #100, go with it. It is your natural self.

BE YOU when it comes to blogging. YOUR voice is the best.

Hi Gary, I think I was blessed with two voices but I think my dominate one is for my photo posts.

I love the diversity of the individual voices here in our community.  You learn, get motivated, you feel sympathy and anger.  I love your "voice" Gary, you always make me think harder and work smarter.

A magical topic and great post for newbies, especially.  I love the photo - it says it all without text.  Be yourself, be unique, know your niche, be consistent.  The rest will just happen!

Gary

Seems like I temporarily lost my blogging voice... Blogging laryngitis I suppose. I think it happens to all of us sooner or later and then hopefully the voice returns in good shape.

Totally taken in by your photo on this one Gary! ... uh WHAT was that post about again? Love it!

Seriously, your point about being yourself in your writing is so true ... when there's no writer's block involved, that is.

Hi Gary!
You couldn't be more right-on!  Early on I tried being the current news writer...it wasn't me. I found I like writing about our business and my experiences with agents and clients alike.  I guess I am the story-teller type...and I love it!

Hi Gary, Great advice to just go with it. One day you actually find your own voice - and write from the heart. Your true self comes shining through.  My teenage high school daughter is learning about writing from the heart right now and she has turned out some wonderful papers.  Love the VW van - too cool!

Gary,

LOVE the picture....and your advice to go with who YOU are is the best advice ever....I know it happened for me...AND it makes writing a blog piece so much easier as it is an extension of who you are... :)

GARY- I like to think of people as diamonds- with multiple faucets, and sometimes the writing styles reflect mood, whimsical or serious, funny or serious, all different sides of their individual personalities.  Circumstances, or atmosphere can also influence the tone and content, what does shine through most of the time is perspective. I LOVE YOURS! <3

Gary,

Sometimes I have more than one voice. It's got much to do with my mind... it often feel like the paint job on the VW. Good and funny post. Just what I needed for a Thursday afternoon before a busy week end...
