You just bought a new car, now you see THAT car EVERYWHERE!

New Car

Isn't that the truth!  You buy a new car, that you think is awesome and that everyone will love to see you in it...  Then as you are driving home, you notice that there are a lot of cars just like it on the road, and you are no longer "special".  Well, YOU are special, but you know what I mean.

Your RETICULAR ACTIVATOR (That part of the brain that starts firing up and making you notice things that you may have otherwise disregarded in teh past) starts working in overtime!

We think the same way when it comes to Realtors.  We think that everyone knows a realtor and that there is a lot of competition out there...  Some of us think that everybody out there knows a Real Estate Agent, so it will be tuff to gain ground...

But the truth is, that not everyone out there knows a Real Estate Agent...  Or at least can remember a Real Estate Agents name if they had to recall one.

When it comes to that car that you just got, not everyone is seeing that same car on the road...  So rest easy, you made a good choice!

So the point is, get out there and spread the word about who you are, and how you can help the people that you have in your sphere of influence...  You never know when that one person is going to need you, and they will only know that you can help, if you have been reminding them all along!

This post is so true. I see my car everywhere! I swear every 10th person is driving the same car I have. I like the association you make it with Realtors.

Sure Chris, EVERYone knows a realtor, but that doesn't mean everyone knows a GOOD realtor.  Believe me, I have even worked for people who have realtors in their family (wouldn't want to go to the next family gathering in that household!).  BTW, when I bought my Mini Cooper four years ago I rarely saw one, but on the 50 mile trip home from the dealership, I swear I saw five!  Happy Selling!

Chris - Great name, by the way!  :)  So true!

But was your cooper the best of the 5?

That is so true.  Until you make the purchase, you don't see them everywhere.  I bought mine about a month after a redesign, so it was awhile before I started seeing very many of my model.  At least in my gold color anyway since most were made in black, white or silver in the beginning.

Great post! And Good Evening! ;) You know Chris, that also applies to selling a car that you love. . . . *sniff* I sold my beautiful phly yellow Jeep Wrangler earlier this year. . . and now I see those blasted things everywhere! I wish I could reprogram my reticular activator to notice my car keys! Now that would be useful. ;)

Chris, We used to see the same thing on our production assembly lines.  Once someone is sensitive to something, they'll see it often!  May have been that way for years without anyone ever noticing, until they DO notice!

Chris ~ So true about seeing your "new car" everywhere. Always happens, right? I actually failed to realize I would be the only one noticing, everyone else would be seeing their new car on the road!

Thanks for the encouragement to get and prospect the sphere of influence! I think people are always talking about Realtors but most people actually do not have one! Great post.

You are so right, we shouldn't assume everyone knows a realtor.  So what if they do, they know you too and maybe they don't know you're a realtor, right?  Thanks for the pep talk!

Phly - OMG, that is so funny, about your car keys.  You had a Jeep?  Why did ya sell it?  I still own my full size Chevy Truck...  And drive it to work every day!  LOL...  When I have my son, we drive through the feild up the hill in 4X4 just to have fun!

Richard - What cities were ya visiting?  Honestly, I wouldn't much help on the restaurants...  I seem to eat at Chili's or just make food at home. I am the worst critic, because I just eat when I'm hungry.  lol...

You work hard, you play hard, you do not give a hoot about other people's opinions.

Maybe that's why the old ladies at the gas station laugh at your fancy car.

To get a laugh out of each other.
