August Sales Activity Report for Dallas/ Ft. Worth Area

Sales were down by 17% in the area for August compared to August 0f 2009. The average sales price was up by 4% and the median sales price was up by 2%. These increases are a statical anomaly caused by increased sales in the upper price ranges.
The real problem for the market continues to be declining pending sales which were down by 21% and the over supply of homes currently on the market.
Over the next several days I will report on the activity in Far North Dallas, Richardson and Plano.
