Hapuna Beach - a quick 5 minute drive just north of Waikoloa Beach Resort (and next door to the Hapuna Print Hotel) and often on numerous international Top Ten beaches. Lots of parking - which is great because this is a very popular beach. In fact, it's the largest beach on the Big Island. The snack stand has some of the best Hawaii shaved ice and the kids love to turn their tongues a rainbow of colors, plus they have all sort of snorkeling and beach rental stuff. There are picnic tables and pavillions so you can bring the whole family and camp out for for the day - and they even have BBQ's. This was the last beach that my wife and I visited while on the Big Island last year in November (hard to believe it was a year ago.) You are correct, it is very inviting. Thanks for the good treatment while we were viewing properties.
