Wordless Wednesday - Tropical Storm Hermine Inundates Central Texas

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Move To Realty 0548926 Texas

The saying goes, "If you don't like the weather in Texas, wait a minute and it will change."  Well, Tropical Storm/Tropical Depression Hermine has flown in the face of convention and given Central Texas two solid days of heavy rains.  Homes have washed away (Granger), trees uprooted and washed downstream (every body of water) and streams and rivers have washed out roads and even crested Interstate 35.  Here's a little Wordless Wednesday of Hermine's wrath and beauty:

Tropical Storm Hermine

Before the storm - Lake Waco Highway 6 Bridge

Tropical Storm Hermine

The Pedernales River in Johnson City under Highway 281

Tropical Storm Hermine

Double Horn Creek under Highway 71 between Spicewood and Marble Falls

Tropical Storm Hermine

One of countless rainbows I saw today!  This one is off Interstate 35 near Salado.

If you know your Texas geography, you can see I made a world tour today!  I'll share some more tomorrow once I get them off my Blackberry.  Have a great night!

It's deceptive, Tere!  The second one was the one that was scary in person.  The third is relatively shallow and small, but the third was raging and dangerous.  Very wide, fast and deep - very striking in person.  The Pedernales is the one that runs by LBJ's old ranch and the river that the Johnson's loved so much.  If I'm not mistaken, LBJ and Lady Bird Johnson are both buried on the banks of this river at the Johnson ranch.
