Its celebration time in Toronto as Hollywood comes north to our fair city! You see the Toronto Film Festival will be kicking off in a few days, it runs from Sept. 9-19th, 2010. The city is already a buzz with media from around the world as we set the stage for 35th Annual Toronto Film Festival.
What make this event even more special is the grand opening of The Bell Lightbox, its the home of the festival. Over the years I have watched the transformation of a gas station slowly turn into this modern forward thinking building on King St. near John St. To celebrate TIFF will have a grand opening for the public, on Sept. 12th from 11:00am-4:00pm. There will lots of activities for the entire family. King St. West will be closed between John and Peter Sts. enjoy the concert series, family fun and wonderful food from local restauranteurs such as cupcakes from Madeleines, Cherry Pie and Ice Cream, movie star look alike contest too. After the ribbon cutting, there will be free admission to the building for the public to see screenings of artworks from international and local filmakers. All film based and photographs from the history of cinema too.
