     In 2008, in conjunction with the first telecast, SU2C raised more than $100 million for translational cancer research.  Shortly thereafter, SU2C funded five interdisciplinary Dream Teams that brought together more than 200 researchers from more than 50 leading institutions in the U.S. and abroad.  A few months later, SU2C funded 13 Innovative Research Grants (IRG) for high-risk, high-reward science being conducted by young investigators in the U.S.  This new funding will continue to benefit Moffitt Cancer Center and other cancer institutions, and will help accelerate the progress we have already seen to date. 

     This year's telecast will feature live performances from legendary recording artists and stars in film, television, and sports.  It will focus not only on scientific research, but also on survivorship and how patients can have quality of life after diagnosis and treatment.  We encourage you to watch the show live on the evening of September 10 on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, Showtime, VH1, The Style Network, and TV One.  Thank you so much for your continued support and for all that you do every day to prevent and cure cancer.
