Extra! Extra! Calling All Buyers..... It's a Buyer's Market

We have all been so bombarded with national & local news about the real estate marketbeing down, down, down. Indeed, it has been a slower than normal market here in Gainesville-Alachua County. Yet, please know this means a slower market for the "sellers". It's a great market for the "buyers"!

Why????

Interest Rates are still near record-low levels.
The amount of homes for sale in our MLS is twice the amount as last year, so you have more to choose from. (Higher Home Inventory)
Our home prices have "adjusted" and "stabilized".
More sellers & builders are offering "buyer incentives".

So don't miss this "Buyer's Market"! It's a great time to buy.

The news media is finally reporting that the real estate market is showing an upswing. A recent article in the Gainesville Sun shows that number of sales went UP, not down!

If you or anyone you know, is wanting to be in a new home this Fall, make sure you tell them NOW is the time to start shopping for their home. Gainesville is Great! I am here to help!

We have seen an increase in business down here in south Sarasota County. My partner and I have been busier the last couple of months than at any other time in the past year!!! People seem to be getting the message that prices are going to start going the other way and they had better buy now or they will be spending more!!!

Barbara Jo - We would think the media would want a "good news" story and be shouting about an UPSWING in the market. But, for now - we will have to be spreading the news!

I hope the buyers in my market are reading this...I've definitely experienced a slower market. Buyers rule to roost - too bad I'm not in the market myself!

Christine - the buyers that are able to buy now should be seriously considering it before they lose this opportunity and kick themselves when they finally buy and these deals are gone. All we can do is lead the proverbial horses to water, but we can't make them drink. Unfortunately, the doom and gloom media carries much more weight than the word of your local real estate professional.

Kim: Our local paper today is running an article that sales in Gainesville are UP 7% for July, when the state's rate is down 24%. I am screaming for the roof-tops - or at least blogging my heart out about it.

Adam: I agree the national media, and the sub-prime lender drama has been a drag on people's motivation. But, folks with good credit are in an excellent position - and with high inventory and hungry lenders - it's a great time to buy. Thanks for commenting!
