Over the last two years I have developed maps that I use on my hyper-local subdivision posts as well as posts about area businesses. The last post I wrote on how to develop the maps was Making Distinctive Maps Using PowerPoint The finished product will resemble this map of Lake Ridge

Lake Ridge Map

You will also notice my post ending resembles a business card. Both the maps and my "business card" are frequently commented on by people who contact me. Last week, for example, a prospect called me about my Ashland post and mentioned she knew me from reading my post about Montclair.

The point of this post is to strongly suggest that you consider developing a brand that will fit in any post with the goal of making your posts more distinctive

Maps and a business card on my hyper-local posts are very effective for me since I have been using them for a long period of time. Whatever you do to develop a "brand" remember it will take time and repetition for it to be effective. Your brand is like fine wine - it needs to be carefully nurtured.
