Free Way To Create A QR Code For Your Listings!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Zillow

Postlets recently launched a service that allows you to create free QR codes for your listings, they named it vyoo.it  (pronounced view).

First, what's a QR code? 1520 n bosworth, chicago, il 60642 wicker park real estateIt is basically a fancy barcode of encoded information that can be text, a website, a URL, or other data. With your smart phone you take a picture of the code, then in the QR reader you are able to see whatever information the code contained.

How and where would an agent use this code?  Anywhere you are handing out information about your listing.  Say you have a sign on the front of the home, you should have a QR code on it.  Then someone walking by can snap a picture of the code, and immediately be able to see multiple photos of the home, your contact information, or whatever you want to share about the listing- all saved to their phone.  Great for people just passing by that want more information, or a great way for someone to keep track of homes if they've toured a bunch in one day.

So how do you get one?  Vyoo.it has made it so simple to create a QR code for individual lisitngs.  If you can create a Craigslist or a Postlets ad, you can do this.  Just go to the site, create an account, fill in the fields - and a code will be created for you!

What will people see if they 'read' this QR code? Vyoo creates a page with four tabs that the person can view: 1) home page with property features you've entered and your contact info 2) Multiple photos 3) Map page and 4) Local page with info from sites like WalkScore and Education.com.

This is a great way to make your advertising even 'smarter'!

Great post!

It still amazes me that an agent can launch, deliver and embed a 3-D tour of each listing directly into the mobile handset of all prospective patrons.  Very powerful stuff.

If you want a QR Code that is both re-programmable and measurable with complete scan metric analytics, just drop us a line:

Thanks for the comments.  Here is another way I recently saw an agent use a QR code.  They created a webpage with a bunch of information about themselves, including photos, videos, all their social media links and marketing text.  Then they got a QR code and printed it on a card.  At a real estate event, instead of handing out cards, all the recipient had to do was take a picture of the QR code and all of that realtor's information was immediately available on the other person's phone.

I went to vyoo.it and signed up. I'll introduce it on my flyers to see what kind of feedback a QR code gives me. Seems they don't support Blackberry yet, but the price is right(free)!

We just developed a QR application for Zillow listings. The service is free. Once registered, you can enter the Zillow URL for any property, our application will generate the QR code, which you can post it on the "for sale" signs. Anyone with a smartphone can scan the code and check out property details.

The application is at http://www.uptier.com. Any suggestions are welcome!
