Florida Amendment 4 - major private property rights issue

It is pretty scary what could happen if Amendment 4 passes. Don't believe the "hometown democracy" slogan. It is a major private property rights taking.

Instead of getting a public hearing and letting elected county leaders and government planners decide what can and can't be built on YOUR PROPERTY, the general public will have to vote and give you 50%+ approval in a county-wide election.

I am all for reigning in run-away growth like the City of Destiny and Innovation East, but to let the un-informed voters be the decision maker instead of elected and government officials. Now that's scary.

Check out this video from the President of the Florida Association of Realtors regarding just how much negative impact this could have on Florida jobs:

Rob, You are very correct, this type of legislation can destroy a State.  It's funny how the proponents of this type of legislation use names that sound good, " home town democracy", and list their points in ways that sound really good.  They usually are allowed to word the issue on the ballot in a way that hides the true meaning of their agenda.  A very similiar ballot inititive was recently defeated in Spokane Washington once the real meaning of the proposed legislation was made know to the public.  This bill was overwhelmingly defeated.

Rob, thanks again for bringing this issue up.
