The Avenue Bed & Breakfast, Champaign, IL
It really doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of bed & breakfast lodging in general or not; you will not want to leave after a stay at The Avenue Bed & Breakfast near downtown Champaign, Illinois.
About two years ago my husband and I were married at The Avenue Bed & Breakfast. We very quickly came to the decision to be married at The Avenue after a little online searching and a meeting with the owners, Paul & Catherine. It just seemed like the perfect setting.
And it turns out, it was.
The home itself is absolutely gorgeous and classic. It isn't kitschy like so many other bed & breakfasts are. The Avenue is tasteful, historic, beautiful and cozy...it's perfection.
But not only was the atmosphere itself just what we were looking for, Paul & Catherine were splendid hosts. They got everything exactly right from the décor, to the food (my gosh, it was good), to the timing of their service. Somehow they managed to appear just as they were needed, and remain completely unseen whenever the "wedding stuff” was going on.
The cherry on top was the affordability of the whole evening. We rented out the entire house for the ceremony, the reception, some rooming for our guests, and a hearty breakfast in the morning. Plus, Catherine was hired to do the in-house catering, which was exceptional and worth every penny (and then some). I should mention, too, that the amenities provided in the individual rooms will make you want to move right in. Suffice it to say that your visit will be a luxurious one.
In case you can’t already tell, I would recommend staying at The Avenue Bed & Breakfast no matter the occasion, from a wedding or party, to a simple overnight getaway. Or if you live here and have company coming but have no where to put them, just make reservations for them at The Avenue. Your only regret will be that it’s your guests getting to stay there and not you.
