Great post I would never think about that but than I'm in the market that doesn't have this issue.
Glenda I actually was at a home in mid summer in our area to take some exterior photos in anticipation of a Feb or March 2011 listing. The trees and flower gardens were at their peak.
Thanks, Andrzej! Guess you don't have to worry about this in Arizona!
Cindy, it's nice that your clients thought far enough ahead to choose you as their agent. Hope the photos turned out great!
Excellent tip, Glenda. Fresh landscaping and blue sky go a long way in those photos.
Great post Glenda. Here in Baton Rouge we seldom have to contend with snow but there are times of the year that produce more appealing photos than others.
Great tip of getting photos of upcoming listings before the leaves fall and before the snow arrives.
Hi Glenda,
An excellent tip. The first impression of the home to most folks is on the internet through the pictures we provide. Definitely "warm and inviting" photos are a better impression.
Thanks all! After I posted this, I fully expected the phone to start ringing off the hook with future home sellers begging for photos. Sadly, it didn't happen ... LOL!
Interesting post...it can be a while before the grass is green....Though if you list in the winter, having spring pictures on MLS with no snow makes people wonder how long it's been on the market. Having the garden in bloom in an inside display is important too...hope your audience "snaps up" the opportunity to show off their landscapes !
I can see the value in a non-winter photo in the cold parts of the country. As you said, people don't think that far out front - usually.
Hi Glenda, great post. Very good advice for areas that have four seasons.
Great advice Glenda. I keep my camera on me and have a lot of good shots from this summer. You should call expired listings! I'm sure that there are some people who will way, "We're going to try again in the spring." Great conversation to get them going by asking them about photos. Just a thought...aka ramble.
Hey Glenda -- So true. Whats even worse is the agent who takes the winter/snow photo and then it stays there year round when it would have been so easy to snap a new summer one. Pure laziness and it always makes me wonder where the seller's head is in all of this.
Hi Glenda, I know you posted this a while ago, but I came upon it today and thought you made an excellent point. Chris Olsen's comment made me think about interior photos I see that still show the Christmas tree displayed in the den.
I found this in a re-blog and came to your original. It should have been featured!! Proof that a picture says a thousand words. This post is right on!
