The City of Painesville will host the Annual Community Picnic in beautiful Kiwanis Recreation Park from 1-4:00 pm on September 11. The first 100 people attending will receive a free ticket to Lake Erie College's opening football game, which also begins at 1:00 pm. The Community Picnic features canoe rides, 3-on-3 basketball, corn hole, and disc golf, just to name a few of the events. Afterward, the Painesville Fire Department will present the 4th Annual 9/11 Memorial and Awards Ceremony at 5:00 pm at the fire station. The ceremony will remember the victims of September 11 and those firefighters who have died in the line of duty over the past year. The ceremony will also recognize and honor the members of the Painesville City Fire Department who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their performance this year.
