Here is the perfect time to get out there and get networking with folks you may know, or will know now that school is beginning for the new school year. Volunteer! Schools, whether public or private, love to have help! You can be a behind the scenes volunteer, if you are shy or if your kids would rather you were not visible:) As they get older, that seems to be the case. The staff and teachers need back-up help, sometimes coordinating events, school plays, bulletin board supplies, chaparoning, or just to fill in and do library or lunch room monitoring. It allows them to take a needed breather, though, most of the teachers I have helped, work on papers while having their lunch. If you have a special talent, sewing, woodworking, cooking, technical expertise, etc., they will love to talk with you about speaking with the students for career possibilites! Go back to school, they will love to see you!
