Nine years ago our world as we knew it changed forever. People we did not know and who did not know us had carefully planned an attack which cost 3,000 Americans their lives. Of those 3000 we lost, there were children, men, women and elderly from all economic walks of life. Poof! Gone!
Americans united for a few days. Pettiness was done away with and priorities were established. We grieved together and consoled one another. For a little while the America our forefathers fought for, gave up their lives and fortunes for, functioned as the United dream they had visualized. The democracy in a Republic really did work for years before 9/11
Then gradually, day by day, many people “moved on.” They may not have totally forgotten the wake up call, but they went back to business as usual just as it was before 9/11.
Now, many are secure in the fact that we have not had another attack on US soil. Really? There is a very real probability that the weakening of our constitutional rights which goes on daily, and the lack of maintenance of our borders has created an environment for a much larger and more terrifying attack.
Look around you. How many of the freedoms that you had before 9/11 are gone…or on their way out? What are you doing to save your freedoms? Is it just too late? What price Freedom? Wonder what our ancestors would think of our inaction? This is the anniversary of the day our world changed forever. Will you resolve to take a stand to try to save the great gift American Patriots stood for? What will our America look like in nine more years if we do not take a stand now?
