•· Essex County's seat, The City of Newark, is the largest city in New Jersey and the third oldest city in the entire nation;
•· The Essex County communities of Livingston, Millburn, North Caldwell, and Essex Fells are four of the one hundred wealthiest towns in America;
•· Essex County's claim to fame ~ film director Steven Spielberg and actors Tom Cruise, Kevin Spacey and Denzel Washington all grew up here.
•· The 222nd and 24th President of the United States, Grover Cleveland was born in Caldwell, New Jersey in 1837.
•· Essex County was the first county in the country to create a county park system to ensure that it did not lose all its land to development. (Includes 20 parks, five reservations and various facilities
