I was given this diet by a friend who needed to lose weight before a surgery. It claims one can lose up to 52 pounds in 2 1/2 months, but I wonder just how "safe" it is for those not having any surgeries - just wanting to lose. Has anyone heard of this or have any thoughts?
Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit or 100% juice unsweetened, 2 eggs (any style), 2 slices of bacon
Lunch: 1/2 grapefruit or 100% juice unsweetened, salad with any dressing, meat (any style - any amount)
Dinner: 1/2 grapefruit or 100% juice unsweetened, meat (any style, any amount, may substitute fish), vegetable, any green or red (cooked in butter or any seasoning) or salad as above.
Bedtime snack: glass of tomato juice or skim milk
Special Instructions: At any meal, you may eat until you are full. Do not eliminate anything from the diet, especially don't skip bacon at breakfast or salads. It's the combination of foods that burn fat. Grapefruit is important because it is a catalyst that starts the burning. Cut down on coffee since it affects the insulin balance that hinders the burning process. Don't eat inbetween meals. Do not eat desserts, breads or white vegetables or sweet potatoes. All soft drinks need to be diet and caffeine free, water is best. You may not have white onions, potatoes or celery. You MAY have red onions, bell peppers, radishes, cucumbers, broccoli, green onions, spinach, leaf lettuce, cabbage, carrots and tomatoes.
IMPORTANT: Stay on the diet for 12 days and stop this diet for 2 days, then begin again.
You can lose up to 10 pounds in 10 days.
Any thoughts???
