Inspired by this post: Good Boy, Max
That's a beautiful shepard. I love to watch them run, very graceful gait.
What a wonderful baby sitter and protector.
It does not appear that you have to worry about Gregory's safety with Max looking on.
Ahhh, very sweet.
Boy's best friend.... boy will grow up to be man.... dog will remain best friend! :O)

I love the photos. Please remind everyone that Max was a rescue. Max had at least two other homes in his first 9 months of life, and came to you as a quite large dog, not a cute little puppy. Yet Max is a great dog. He immediatly bonded with the children and truly loves his family.
Tiffany- they are now reminded twice! I linked to the original piece from back in April in comment 1. Ironically, his first family gave him up, the story goes, because they had a baby.
Philip....dogs are great companions and protectors for children....Gregory looks like he's having a good time.....nice photo..
Philip -
A dog is man's best....babysitter.
The bigger the dog, the better the sitter.
It's good to have an extra baby sitter on hand...oh, and a playmate, too. I grew up w/ pets and they are the BEST. Unconditional love.
Max looks like he adores and is very protective of Gregory.
Phil, Looks like Max is always on duty! My parents tell me they had a shepherd when I was just a toddler. If I tried to head out of the yard, would grab me by the diaper and haul me back :)
What a sweet dog! He obviously takes his job very seriously and will not let anything happen to Gregory.
This post brought back great memories from my childhood of our own German Shepherd named Ranger. I have a sister who is 10 years younger than me, and whenever we wanted to know where Caroline was, we'd just call Ranger. He watched over her incessantly. I wish I still had the picture of her sitting on the floor watching TV, and Ranger was just standing over her, literally. Her head just touched the top of his belly! Great dogs!
We have a 12 (soon to be 13) year old female GSD, Ilse, who looks an awful lot like Max! She has been the best dog ever and I cannot imagine having another breed...they are simply awesome dogs. Kudos to you for taking in a rescue! The pics are great.
