Lakefront home and golf course home markets - opportunities on the horizon

Dane County has a number of single family homes in the lakefront and golf course niche markets. Here are some statistics about both of these markets (excluding condos) from the South Central Wisconsin MLS.

Eighty-three Dane County homes with more than 50 feet of lake frontage are on the market right now. Twenty-three properties from this niche market have sold over the past 12 months. This equates to 43 months of inventory in the Dane County lake home market.

Forty Dane County golf course homes are on the market right now. Twenty-five have sold in the previous 12 months. This equates to 19 months of inventory in the Dane County golf course home market.

Inventory levels for both of these markets are similar to the levels for some of our local condo markets. Over the next year homes in both of these niche markets will be selling for prices that weren't conceivable several years ago.
