Never say never, never give up a dream.  That must be the motto of 59 year old Mike Flint who has enrolled in college and will be playing on the college football team come September.   It seems he was kicked off his college football team prior to his senior year and it has been a regret that he has lived with all these years.

Flint is a grandfather and his youngest starts college this year.  He and his wife were planning on retiring but plans have changed with a move to Texas where he will be perhaps the oldest player in college football history.

Read the story in its entirety for all the details of Mike Flint's life, regrets and dream come true. Is he nuts or someone we can learn from?

I think we all can learn from Mike, if we have a vision, dream or goal, it can happen--but not without work, time, persistence and the belief that we can do it.

I really don't think he will make it through the season - we just don't heal as quickly as those kids on the team, but you have to be amazed that he is going to try!

Amazing story, Cynthia....I remember seeing a movie about a similar story a few years ago and it was based on a true story.  The human spirit is truly indomitable , isn't it ?...especially when one believes in something strong enough.

thanks for sharing this...

Hello Barbara-Jo
Even so, he is giving it a try and he gets an A for effort in my book.

Hi Jo,
Yes the human spirit is truly indomitable.  A positive attitude and belief in oneself can help one achieve what appears to be impossible.

Cynthia.... wow... I read the story. I also believe that as long as you put your mind to do it, you can accomplish so much... but this.... wow. Possibly a little nuts. You do have to be in great shape, that's for sure.

Hi Jeff,
Sounds like he has kept in shape--but you could be right.  What courage to take on a challenge like that.

You really read the story?  I didn't think anybody did that!  LOL!

Hello Michael,
From the article, it does sound like he has worked hard to stay in shape.  Yes, I'll be pulling for him too.  Thank you for your comments.

Yes Jeanette,
We certainly must, as to reality.  Guess that remains to be seen.
