Elizabeth ! Well I was a Cub for many years and learned so much and had a blast, so we will encourage him ;o)
Sheldon, congratulations on getting him started. You will really enjoy it when he moves up to Boy Scouts. I have been an Asst. Scout Master with our son's troop for 11 years and it was so much fun watching him grow and advance to Eagle. I had a wonderful time traveling with the troop on many outdoor adventures that took us many place in the USA, including to treks to Philmont and a wild backpacking journey through the Costa Rican Jungles and Rain Forest. Though our son has left for school, I still help out when needed!
Russell ! Our camping trips when I was in the Cubs were some of my favorite childhood memories ! The fun we had was priceless :o)
One of those brothers I would like to roast over an open fire though. He is an arrogant know it all.
My brother was a scout and had tons of fun. And I just love a man in uniform *so next year I can't wait to see your little man in his. :)

Luke is entering his 3rd year in Cub Scouts. I was never a cub- started in Boy Scouts when I was 11 and advanced to Life. It was a great experience. I hope you get your son to participate.
Sheldon, I never did the scouting thing, so I can't offer up anything positive about it, except I do enjoy the thin mints they sell. Opps, sorry wrong group.
I loved scouting more than my kids did, I think. Brownie and Girl Scout leader was much, much easier than the two years as a Den mother. How teachers do it everyday is a miracle. Have fun, I hope your little guy enjoys it.

I am a big fan of Scouting. M son did it as well as my brothers. I think Scouting teaches so many great life lessons and skills along with good values. Cheers to you for promoting Scouting!
Hi Sheldon, Scouting provides such great opportunities for kids! all I remember from my brother Cub Scout days is "Webelos follow the Pack".... I sewed on many a Girl Scout badge for my daughters too.
Did you know that the US Postal Service just came out with a stamp to honor the tradition of Scouting? It's really neat. Using it in my next mailout.
This will be a successful troop with your boy on board, Aheldon. My daughter was a cub scout for a couple years because she thought the school's brownie troop was boring! (and the boys voted her in!) Scout's honor!

Scouting is a great thing for any boy....and any dad.
Hi Sheldon! My husband loved scouting and he and his brother were troop leaders. It's been a lot of years, but he recently agreed to help out again. :o)
