In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Town of Amherst, the 15th annual fall antique show and sale "Antiques on the Green", will be held on Saturday, September 18th from 10:30 to 3:00 p.m.
The Town of Amherst antique show is sponsored by the Historical Society of Amherst and will feature 35 dealers. There will be a variety of antiques ranging from country furniture, decorative pieces, fine silver and glass, toys, dolls, books, architectural items, art and jewelry.
Have you been wondering about something you have had in your family for years, but can't get to the antique shows to find out the value... Now you can get a free appraisal. Each attendee who pays the admission fee of $5:00 can have 1 item appraised for free from 10:30 to 11:30 by Jason Hackler owner and manager of NH Antique Coop of Milford.
While you are enjoying all viewing the antiques, you will be entertained by Appalachian dulcimer music performed by Sandy Lafleur, a local musician. There will be a bake sale sponsored by the Historic Society and delicious foods from various local vendors.
The Amherst Town Library will be having a book sale at the Congregational church adjacent to the Amherst Green.
Within walking distance from the Green are two museums maintained by the Historical Society, the Wigwam museum (Located on the corner of Middle and Cross Streets) and the Chapel Museum (Located on the corner of Middle and Church Streets). Visitors will be able to view a wide array of historical memorabilia relating to Amherst including maps, photos, scrapbooks, clothing and furniture.
