A couple days ago I posted about my showing during a tornado warning and the wonderful young couple that was touring the home.
Well, as fate would have it, during all the wind the listing agents sign blew right out of the frame and down the street. My husband retrieved it and we placed it inside the home to await the storm to pass. When the weather broke enough for us all to leave we left the sign inside. On purpose? No - I don't think so.
My buyers said that they were taking that as an omen that since the sign was gone that was going to be their home. OK - crazier things have happened.
We met yesterday morning and they wrote an offer on the home. The process had begun. Now it was time to wait for the seller to decide on acceptance or a counter. Last evening the selling agent called with a verbal counter. It was still a little high for my buyers.
Now I'm thinking that this is going to fall apart and we will be touring homes for another 6 weeks. But wait! The counter offer was conveyed to the buyer - they talked it over and came up with a counter to the counter. Another call to the selling agent. She makes another call to the seller.
Tick....tick.....tick.....tick...tick....tick.....tick
My buyers are anxious and excited, but trying to stay grounded so if their offer is refused they won't be suffering terminal disappointment. Then my phone rings and there is a huge sigh on the other end. The selling agent says - I have great news! He has accepted their offer!
I called my buyers....when the husband answered the phone all I said was, "Congratulations!" Well, that was my feel good moment of the week. He hesitated for just a split second and said, "Really?"
Now there is a young family that is preparing to purchase the home that they want to raise their family in. A place to call their own, and to add those little touches that will truly make it home for them.
Perhaps that storm was a sign. A sign that there really is a rainbow after the rain?
