Maxpreps, the accepted authority in high school sports nationally, just released the numbers after 3 games for most of the California high school football teams, and running back, junior Tevin Slaton(pictured) placed #11 in rushing leaders, with Foothill QB Zach Ray ranked # 18 in the State. Slaton's rushing average, after 3 games, is 155.7 yards per game (1 yard behind #10), and QB Ray has a passing average of 179 yards per game. Foothill, showing a very aggressive and creative offensive system utilizing 4 and 5 receivers in most plays, comes into this weekend against undefeated Lassen High from Susanville, one of the pre-season favorites to win the Northern Division. In addition to the exciting offensive game, the Foothill defense has been almost impossible to score on. With all 4 linebackers returning, and utilizing a 3-4 defense, opposing teams have found this quick and savvy defense very tough on every play.
The game versus Lassen High will be at Foothill High in Palo Cedro....game time is 7:30 PM...and the radio broadcast will be on Fox Sports Radio, AM 1670 starting at 7 PM...then re-broadcast on Saturday morning at 8 AM. Those out of radio range can hear the game streaming on www.kqms.com at 7 PM Friday.
