15 Comments on Vintage Ads: Thank Goodness We Do Not See These Anymore (except this blog entry)!
I LOVE vintage ads and these are wonderful - I will reblog to share with my family & friends! Thank you for finding and sharing these treasures! ~ Susan
These are great! I especially liked this one: "More doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette". I won't even comment on the women related ones :-) Thanks so much for the morning chuckle!
OMG too funny! Thanks for the laugh. I think I'll re-blog this if I can....Great!
You know those ads are funny. I know some are really not appropriate, but at the same time I hate PC Police that attack everything. I like the Green Police ads lately; for the electric car.
When I was younger I like the Van Heusen ads for shirts ,"For a man to wear and a woman to borrow." It sold me and I wore them for years, and my GF borrowed them.
By all means Christa and Laxson, re-blog away!
@Gene, I hoping folks realize this is all fun. :)
Fun and funny, what a blast from the not so distant past....the Subaru one....wow! Thanks for the collection.
You're welcome Leslie. We used to buy and sell vintage magazines and still have hundreds of magazines 50+ years and older. I bet we can find some real crazy ads! :)
I have a magazine from 1951 and my favorite article in it is about a mixed marriage and how hard it is. In 1951 a mixed marriage was between a Catholic and a Protestant. It is a very funny article now, but it was serious on how the moms were fighting at the wedding on how the kids would be raised.

Wow...I've seen a few of these, but most were new to me. It's even funnier to think how hideous today's ads will be in another 50 years. Some of them are already pretty questionable...
Loved the post!! Thanks for sharing and making me laugh out loud!
You are certainly welcome Glenn! :)
Actually kind of scary! Reminds me of Mad men. Great post.
Hi Colleen~ It is hard to imagine that these ads were acceptable. Funny how times change! Love how young Ronald Reagan was in the ad! My mom actually named one of my brothers after Ronald!
Hello Colleen,
Thanks for posting these. I love looking through old marketing materials. My mother said that she use to serve me 7up instead of milk, now I know why.
Hey I agree, the harder she works, the cuter she is..... But it is good to start cute. Hard work can't do it all. :]
