Greek heritage will be alive and well in Columbus, Ohio this weekend.

The Greek Festival will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral (555 N. High St.) in Columbus and is a great to get a better feel for the ancestry of our local Greek population. The festival runs 11 a.m. until Midnight on Thursday and Friday, Noon until Midnight on Sunday, and 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday.

Food and dessert are key parts of any Greek Festival. There will be three options for dining at the festival including an indoor ala carte line where you can try anything from Pastitio to Keftedes. Or you can head outside to the lamb roast dinner, or a collection of outdoor food tents that will include Gyro and other treats.

Of course dessert is a key part of any meal and Maria's Pastry Shop will offer all the favorites and more, while Kafenion, a coffee shop, will provide an opportunity for festival goers to relax and take a load off for a few moments.

There will numerous shops and vendors around to make for a great day.

If you go, adult admission is $4, senior citizens are $3 and children under 12 are free.
