St George Utah has some nice little parks with ponds that the city graciously stocks with fish. Washington Utah recently decided to add the same type of park in their little community, it's call Razor Ridge Park. It is located at 1934 N. Coral Ridge Dr. which is just north of Coral Canyon off Telegraph Rd. The pond is approximately 28 feet deep and is stocked with Rainbow Trout, Large Mouth Bass and Blue Gill. The fish are not usually very large, but it gives my kids a chance to try their hand at fishing without driving out to one of the larger lakes. My family enjoys running to one of these ponds occasionally and throwing in a line for an hour or two. Last Saturday was one of those days. My husband took my 10 year old out to Razor Ridge Park and they fished for several hours.
My son had a wonderful time and even caught a small fish or two!
There were lots and lots of beautiful dragon flies enjoying the pond too! Blue and orange dragon flies zipped past us as we ate our lunch and wandered around the little pond. They are so beautiful, I had to take a picture of one of them.
This little park is a fun place to take a picnic and enjoy the wonderful weather we're having in St George right now. It's a short drive from St George and your kids can fish to their hearts content! There's also a covered pavilion if you need to get out of the sun or would like to eat your lunch in the shade. Public restrooms and a drinking fountain are also available at the pond.
